Afternoon all,

With the country now moving into the new traffic light system, we just wanted to provide you an update on what that means for Softball, and for our clubrooms.

Playing

Wellington Softball will be operating and managing weekly community softball under the No CVC’s guidelines as set by Sport NZ.

Community softball can take place with gatherings of up to 50 people per diamond (based on allowing one m² of space per person). Spectators at community softball are treated as a separate gathering, and the same limits apply to them if they remain more than 2 metres away from the players.

Our Clubrooms

From 3 December, following official government advise. We will require everyone to show their vaccination passports when entering the clubrooms (this includes the decks). This is the only way we can operate our clubrooms in Orange and Red settings.

As a club, we are taking our responsibility seriously. Your passport will need to be shown to a committee member, and this will then be recorded for future purposes. If you do not get this viewed by a committee member, you will need to show this every time you enter the clubrooms (this caters to allow for other volunteers helping with running the bar).

Remember – this does NOT affect your ability to play. WSA has released guidance stating; community softball can take place with gatherings of up to 50 people per diamond (based on allowing one m² of space per person). Spectators at community softball are treated as a separate gathering, and the same limits apply to them if they remain more than 2 metres away from the players.

We are in strange times, please look after one other and be understanding while we all try and navigate this new world together.

Kyla.
