Kapiti Coast Softball has the following grades available to join.  New Zealand Softball age cut off is 31st December each year.  We can, however, get dispensation for various reasons if you wish to play in the grade below, or if we can't get you into the correct grade.

U7 Local League

This caters for 3-7 year olds (If you are 7, and it’s your first year we recommend this grade). This grade can be mixed boys and girls. This is played at Te-Atiawa Park on a Saturday morning at 9am - 10am.  Once every 3/4 weeks we have a Grand Slam/Festival day which will either be at our park, Porirua or Tawa.  More information about this grade can be found our U7 Tee ball page (coming soon).

U9

This caters for 7 and 8 year olds.  We either enter Mini Pitch or Tee ball.  However, we find our kids like to experience full softball so for the last 8 years we have only had Mini Pitch teams.  We allow the coach and parents to decide which version of softball they would like to enter.

These games are timed at 1.15 hrs with modified Mini Pitch/tee ball rules. This grade can be mixed boys and girls.

The clubs and locations you will play at are:  Kapiti (Te-Atiawa Park), Paramata Plimmerton (Domain), Porirua (Porirua Park), PCI (Onepoto Park), Toa (Onepoto Park), Tawa (Redwood Park), Johnsonville (Alex Moore Park) and Newlands.  This grade works on a home and away system.

You will usually have 1 training per week, which is also decided by the coach and parents.  There is no longer a Wellington Repersensative program for this grade, we are looking at ways we can fill that gap.  The top four teams in this grade participate in a 'Top Teams' tournament competition.
